AGATHA FUKUSHIMA

 

Spanish Professor

 

Originally from Mexico City, Agatha currently resides in Mérida, Yucatán, where she is a member of the Tumàka't Contemporary Dance Company and House of Apocalipstick. In her personal life, she explores dance and performance in different ways. One of her main projects is Pequeños espacios (Small Spaces). Agatha has performed in various theaters, forums, galleries and public spaces in Mexico and around the world: Mexico City, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Tabasco, Campeche, Saltillo, Panama, Seoul and Mazatlán. She began her studies in dance at the School of Artistic Initiation No. 2 of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) and received an award for the Recognition of Achievement in the Classical Dance Area (2005-2008). Agatha later entered the Diego Rivera Art Education Center (CEDART) INBA during the 2008-2011 period. Agatha graduated from the National School of Classical and Contemporary Dance of the INBA (2011-2016).
