English Professor

Ian is originally from New York, though he attended university at a small liberal arts school outside of Philadelphia called Ursinus College, where he studied Educational Philosophy, Applied Ethics, and Creative Writing. Since graduating, he has lived in Harlem, Hanoi, and now Merida, working as a teacher, educator, and community organizer. Coming from a family of educators, Ian has cultivated a lifelong passion for experimental educational techniques, practices, and pedagogies, and here at Habla, he is not only encouraged to implement such methods, he is trained to do so. The result is a personalized, creative, and natural approach to learning that is rewarding for teachers and students alike.
