Kurt Wootton

Writer, Educator, and Habla Co-Founder


Kurt Wootton is the Co-Founder of Habla. Previously he co-founded the ArtsLiteracy Project based in the Education Department at Brown University. He has piloted lab schools in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil and worked with many cities on multi-year, district-wide initiatives. Wootton has over a dozen articles published in professional journals. He is the co-author of A Reason to Read: Linking Literacy and the Arts published by Harvard Education Press. As a former professor in the Education Department at Brown University and with years of teaching experience, Wootton designs the professional development for Habla’s teachers and ensures Habla’s courses are innovative, engaging, and effective. The New York Times writes: “Mr. Wootton remains every bit as convinced of education’s power to transform lives.
