SOPHIA ELLIS

English Professor

Sophia is an educator, artist, late night story enthusiast, and lover of creative spaces. Before landing in the wonderful Habla community, she was a University student in Florida, focusing in Humanities, Cognitive Sciences, and Studio Art, then making her way to live and teach in Hanoi, Vietnam. Sophia fell in love with educational spaces at University where she learned the true power of contemplation and the importance of sharing expressive ideas. Ever since, she has been teaching English, peppering in dashes of other subjects such as Art, Philosophy and Ethics. Sophia truly enjoys allowing creative forms of storytelling to take the lead in the language learning classroom, as well as discussions on identity, social justice, and art analysis. When she isn’t  teaching she is getting her hands dirty with clay, singing with her cat or enjoying papadzules.
