Originally from Merida, Yucatan. Karla inherited her passion for traditional Yucatecan cuisine from her mother. The food in her family comes from generation to generation, from her grandmother's grandparents. Her specialty is pib, the quintessential Yucatecan tamale. Karla prepares the best dishes you can eat at Habla. She loves giving cooking workshops for the Spanish Immersion program that exalt the flavors and ingredients of the region and she often wears the traditional Yucatan dress in honor of her ancestors. Besides cooking, Karla loves to dance. She combines both passions while dancing as she cooks her specialties.
